Ed,

Thank you for your product and your help. I hope this is an easy job. I have spoken to a lot of repair people and they tell me it would cost around $375.00 to fix the problem. They also stated that we would not be able to do the job ourselves and would never get the convergence right. From what I am hearing about this type of job from TV repair people it is a nightmare but reading your instructions, it is not that bad. We have not been watching the TV, in fact we turned it off that night when it was messing up and unplugged it too. I will email you as soon as my husband has finished so you can reap the rewards for assisting us in this repair job.

Thank you again,

Mrs. Sharon Fuentes

Hey Sharon,

First - Yes you and your husband can do the repair yourself. I swear some of the TV shops have no morals. Typically on the Sony sets you just replace the two convergence chips and then goto the convergence menu to re-adjust. Its one of the easier TV sets to fix.

FYI - Please send me your model number so that I can make sure we did not miss anything.

In addition to the photo instructions below are some tips.

1) Unless you are real good at using de-soldering braid use the desoldering iron that we recommend in our instructions. You can get it at radio shack

2) Buy Silver Solder if possible - thinnest you can find.

3) Take your time - label every cable that you remove.

4) Start by replacing only the convergence chips...If after the repair is complete you still have a problem check the pico fuses. Resistors almost never fail on this set.

5) Triple check that you put all the cables back correctly before powering on the TV.

Hope this helps,

Ed

Hi Ed,

I just wanted to thank you for all your help. My husband was able to fix our 65” wide screen Sony TV with no trouble at all. He followed your instruction to the letter and after a couple of hours he was done and the picture is flawless. I must say it look brand new. I really don’t know how to thank you for sending us the right parts and perfectly detailed instruction. You saved us a lot of money which at this time during the economy crunch we could not afford to pay for this type of repair. I hope you will be around for future request for parts because you have our business and we will be referring you to others when their TV’s go bonkers.

Thank you so much for your help,

Mrs. Sharon Fuentes

That is great news Sharon. I'm glad our kit worked and helped save you some money. Please refer any friends who need their TV's fixed.

Thanks Again,

Ed
