400 Plus Success Stories and growing! ( Updated Weekly)
Our 20yr old 55" projection TV was starting to show its age. The picture quality was extremely dull and so blurry that we couldn't even read any print on the screen. After doing some research online, I came across your web site. I am so glad I did! Although a little sceptical, I decided to purchase the CRT Lens Fluid Repair kit. It arrived within in 3 days! The step by step instructions, with photos, were great. It took me longer than I had anticipated but that was due to me being extremely careful taking everything apart and labeling the components for easier re-assembly. It was quite obvious why the picture quality was so bad after draining all the old fluid and cleaning the lens. They were unbelievably dirty. I must say it was worth the time and effort! For less than $100 dollars our TV is like new. Thanks guys! You saved me from spending a few thousand dollars for a new TV.

CRT Lens Fluid Repair Kit
A big thank you guys. My set had the bent colors or 3D effect so I did some research on-line and found this was a very common problem with my model. During my research I saw multiple references to tvrepairkits.com, so naturally I checked you out. I'm very glad I did. I ordered the convergence kit for my model and it arrived in about 3 days. I really liked that the kit covered and included more than the chips. I didn't need the resistors or fuses, but it was nice to see they were available if did. I was a little confused for a minute or two as the chip numbers in the kit did not match the numbers from my set, but after re-reading the description of the kit (and double checking via the Internet) I found I was getting better chips than Mitsubishi installed. The instructions were great and my set has a wonderful picture again.
Thanks,
After calling a TV repair shop several times to pick up my Hitachi 53UDX10BA with no luck, I decided to try the repair myself. I am so glad that I found your site. I ordered the kit and received fast shipment and support. The repair instructions were simple and easy to follow and I received a fast response when I asked for help. I will be sure to tell all my friends about your product and excellent support. Thanks!

Convergence Repair Kit
Found this site with a google search. I have never repaired a solid state type electronic device before. The kit cost around $ 40.00. The instructions where easy to follow and the parts where just what was needed. It took about 1 1/2 hours to complete the repair start to finish. Plugged the set in and it worked perfectly. The only issue I had was that the green light was still flashing after the repair. Turned out to be the timer was set to on. Turned the timer off and no more blinking light. Thanks for everything Ed. I wish I had found you 2 years ago when my Toshiba quit. I took it in and they said they could not find the problem. I let them keep it and bought the Mitsubishi from them. Looking back I think I was taken. The toshiba was only 4 years old and a much better set. Well live and learn. I feel anybody can repair their TV with the help of this fantastic company.

I was getting ready to spend 1600 on a new tv but spending the 80 on the kit was much better. Instructions were great. replaced both chips and one burned pico fuse.

I recently picked up a Pioneer SD643HD5 television. My friend said that it didn't work and that he had purchased another set. If I wanted this unit I could have it for free if I came and removed it from his place. I Googled the problem and found TV Repair Kits online and they helped me get the proper repair kit for the convergence problem the TV was having. I also downloaded the instructions from them and purchased a de-soldering iron which they recommended. I was able to fix this TV for less than $150.00 and it is absolutely beautiful. It is a 64" set and it was the best money I have spent to fix something. I had no experience working on TV's but with the instructions and TV Repair Kits outstanding support I now have a great and big TV to watch.

I had just called a friend to ask what he did with his big screen. He had set his out by the curb and it was gone the next day. I wondered why anyone would want it and being quite handy, I decided to give this repair a try. I found this company via Google and let me tell you...This company is the real deal! First off, I ordered the parts on a Tuesday night and got the product on Friday. Secondly, the instructions were spot on. If that was not enough my Toshiba 57" now works like a charm...Thanks for being one of only a few online ventures to deliver what they promised.

Ed,
I just wanted to let you know how thrilled we are to have our 60 inch TV back up and running. Your kit worked beautifully. We didn't want to just throw it away, as many people suggested, if $60 could bring it back. The instructions alone, along with the links provided for U-Tube how-to videos were well thought out and helpful. I have soldering experience, and invested approximately 1 1/2 hours total to get the job done. Most of that time is removing screws to the back, the circuit board, then reversing to re-assemble. Your continued assistance determining which kit was needed for the problem should also be a feather in your cap.
Thank you again, Kevin in Vermont.

Phillips Magnavox PTV843 60inch
Shrinking Expanding Screen No Video No Audio
I received an old Philips Rear-Projection TV from my mother-in-law. The picture was okay but the colors weren't quite right and there was a lot of pluming around white text. I figured a bulb needed to be replaced so I did some research online and found tvrepairkits.com. I read through some testimonials and found some people who had the exact problems I had. For the reasonable price of a CRT lens fluid kit, I figured it was worth taking a shot.

Once I received the fluid and pump, I printed off the instructions. What I liked best about my order was that the instructions were for my EXACT model of TV. It wasn't just some generic repair guide. The full color instructions walk you step by step through the whole process. It took about six hours (with having interuptions from kids on winter break) to complete the job with zero problems.

I can't say enough about the end result. If you read other testimonials on this site raving about the picture clarity, they are absolutely correct. Once you modify the convergence on your TV, the colors are absolutely incredible and the picture is crystal clear. I don't recall ever seeing the picture look this nice.

Great company and great product!

Philips Rear-Projection TV 55PW9363
CRT Lens Fluid Kit
I have a Mitsubishi Diamond 55” Projection TV (WS-55909) that I purchased in 2002. While it was the “state of the art” at the time of purchase, having a built-in HDTV module, I wondered if it had out-lived its useful life. I was received the “blinking green light of death” that is typical of the Mitsubishi brand. I decided to take a chance and ordered the kit for my model.

It took about 3 hours total; half the time was removing and re-installing the power board in the TV, the other half was de-soldering and installing (soldering) 7 new capacitors. When I inspected the old capacitors, they were not bulging as described in the instructions, so I was hoping that there was not a different problem that I did not plan for. With the help of my wife being the extra set of hand needed to hold the board while soldering, we were pleasantly pleased when I plugged the TV in (fire extinguisher at the ready) and the green light stopped blinking after about 30 seconds. The moment of truth: I pressed the power button and TV came to life.

Thanks to TVRepairKits.com for providing the parts and instructions to allow everyday people fix their TVs.
Mitsubishi Blinking Light Repair Kit
Had the dreaded "Mitsubishi Green Blinking Light". Ordered the kit around the holidays so delivery took a little long. Great instructions that were model specific. Replaced the 7 capacitors and checked the fuses. All looked good. Plugged it in and........*$!@*^ Green light still flashing. OH, then I read where it says to wait 2 minutes. $40 later and about an hour of fixin' and the TV works like new. Great product. Great service. Thanks

Mitsubishi Blinking Light Repair Kit - TV-KIT-2061, 2063
Figured what the hell? the tv is 9 years old. If I can fix it for $80 it is worth it. Got the kit and spent a long time reading and re-reading the instructions before starting. the instructions were straight forward. I think the only thing that requires a better explanation is regarding the "flyback wires". I did not take them out for fear it would never work again. the wires go into something that looks like an old chrysler ignition coil, and working to get the board in a good postion to solder without removing them took some manuevering.

Anyway, I started by removing the convergence chips and then working on the PICO fuses. I think that the chips on my sony seem to have a tighter footprint than the on line instructions. I consider myself an adequate solderer, as I have been soldering cables for musical equipment for years. I did buy the suggested desoldering tool as it did work much better than any braid.

after removing the chips and checking the board with a magnifying glass I went to work on the PICO fuses....u may want to add a tip that on the sony's it is easy to identify the pico fuses on the bottom of the board because the values are written right there which are completely seperate and distinct from the convergence resistors. Anyway I checked all the pico's on the d board and they were fine. I then soldered the new chips in with the recommened thermal paste on the back. I figured that since the pico's were fine on the d board why bother with the othere 2 on the g board...big mistake put it back together and had the exact same convergence problem....THE TIP ABOUT BOTH HEAT SINKS GETTING WARM WAS PERFECT..ONE HEAT SINK COLD... So i took the g board out per instructions and found that one of the 2 pico's were bad...replaced it, plugged the board in and turned it on. to my surprise IT WORKED.... used the convergence menu to align it...had one glitch about 5 minutes in, the convergence went away for about 30 seconds and realinged itself...??? been running for 2 hours straight and it seems fine....

thanks for the great instructions, they really made this a much better task...

Start to finish 4 hours...

BTW...made an interesting bet with my wife that I could fix it....will get my payoff later...but that is another story...lol

Had my TV repaired by a professonal 3 years ago. Left me hanging with my convergence still messed up. Never completed the adjustments after replacing the convergence chips. After figuring out how to enter the service mode to perform the adjustment, I finished the job. Last week the set started to show that 3D look again so I started searching on how to DIY. Found out I should have done it myself 3 years ago and save $400. This is a no brainer repiar for the average joe. Family happy, pocketbook happy, Life is good! Thanks for the information and the support to perform the repair.

I found your site from a post on Techlore and decided yours would be where I purchased from because there was no additional guesswork. You had the correct parts, the necessary instructions on how to perform the repair and you offered online help if needed. The parts came in within three days and I got everything you suggested. I went through the instructions which were very easy and performed the repair. My model was very simple to remove the DM Module and it came out with ease which probably explains why I didn't think it would work once it was done but low and behold once it was plugged in and the green light stopped blinking, it worked. I would like to thank you for the ease your site provided and the cost savings you provided. I highly recommend your site for trying to fix these televisions yourself.

I have no electronics or soldering experience. Used your convergence repair kit to fix the convergence problem. It took me longer than the estimated repair time, but I had a bad soldered connection and had to find and fix it. Once that was done, problem was fixed! Definitely worth the time and money. Just wish I had listened to you about also replacing the CRT fluid while I had the TV apart. I am now going to do that with your kit.

Convergence
Just repaired my old Sony projection TV. Followed the very detailed online step-by-step instructions, and found that all of the pico fuses were okay, so the actual repair involved the replacement of just the convergence ICs. The whole job took about 3 hours, start to finish, including time spent going back and forth to my laptop to re-read instructions.

For me, the most difficult part of the job was taking out the convergence board -- there were some difficult to find screws holding it in place! But once that was done, pulling the individual plugs (and marking them accordingly) was pretty simple, and after wiggling the board out, the testing, desoldering, and resoldering process was fairly simple. After putting everything back together (and dusting off the lenses while the back was open), my television is working again, better than ever!

The kit plus the instructions are well worth it!

Once my TV had the 3D and seperated colors show up, I did a google search to find what the problem could be. I then found TVREPAIRKITS.COM . Once I saw the site and read the testimonials, I knew I could fix my TV. I ordered the kit on Friday, kit arrived Monday. 2 hours after I got home, the set was fixed. The soldering iron I purchased from the site worked perfectly. I bought the desoldering iron and solder from radio shack as recommended. The instructions were perfect and I was so amazed at how easy I made my solders perfectly. THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME 300 DOLLARS and I will always, and I mean always recommend TVREPAIRKITS.COM to everyone!

All I can say is these guys are great and super nice to deal with. Our bigscreen went into 3d mode where we couldn't use the convergence at all on the right side of the screen making it impossable to watch. So thinking we would have to buy another tv, I started looking to see if there would be a easy fix for ours before shoving it outside. I found these guys and ordered the kit needed to fix it. Well needless to say the kit got lost in the mail. I sent an email to them letting them know I still had not recieved my kit, and they did not hesitate to send another without question. The kit also contained the same parts that were in the TV from the factory, not generic parts. Non the less, having no skills in tv repair, and following the directions they gave me....The TV is up and running again after about an hour. Mind you this is a 10 year old set. The picture looks just as nice as the day we bought it. With that being said, Thanks a million for the service you provided and you are highly recomended in our book. Jim and Nancy Addison.

I was given an old 55 inch Samsung tv set by a friend of the family. It is very large in size (attaches to its base - and is a mammoth of a tv), however I grew to love the thing because a) it was free and b) 55 inches is quite a large screen.

To my dismay, I turned it on one day and felt like I was watching a 3d movie. After some online research, I realized it was a "convergence" problem - basically my picture's layers were not lining up as they should. I went into the menu to try and fix it - but could only adjust the vertical convergence, and not the horizontal. I realized it was probably time to get a new tv.. :o( I looked around and almost spend over $1200 on a new flatscreen television - but decided to go home and think about it.

That evening I stumbled upon this website. I must admit I was VERY skeptical. Seriously? I am to believe that I can fix a television set?! (I can barely make toast people!) :o) But after going back and forth - I decided to give a try. Mostly because of all the testimonies I read - and the questions and answers. It seemed to work for a lot of people - and to me spending 90-100 dollars, sounded much better than dropping $1200. If it didn't work - I figured oh well, I am already dropping $1200, why not $1300? :o)

To my absolute surprise and satisfaction - it worked. It one hundred percent fixed the issue I was having - and I am still able to use my beast of a tv set.

I will admit the soldering part of this made me nervous - but if you follow what this company suggests you do, it isn't hard at all. I bought a test board and the little pieces that goes into it - and practiced my soldering and unsoldering. After a few tries - I felt very comfortable with my abilities.

The step by step picture guide was very helpful. I think there could be more details added to it - as I got confused a few times.. but overall it is very well put together. It took me maybe 3 hours to take out the circuit board, remove the old pieces, put in the new ones and solder them into place - then reconnect everything. When I turned it back on for the first time I was very sad - because the picture actually looked way worse. Then I went into the convergence menu and had it do an auto convergence - the picture was then restored to perfect.

*As I fixed it I ran into a small issue and e-mailed the help address - and received a response VERY quickly. That was important to me, and very helpful.

I very highly recommend this product, this company - and my experience as a whole. Anyone can do it with this kit! :o)

Your kit & instructions worked great!
I spent a total of about 2 hours & my wife was very impressed. The hardest part was getting the board out of the TV.
My board included the Flyback & you recommended not removing the red cables. However that would have made the work extremely difficult to do. I think you should include instructions on how to remove them (slide the rubber cover up, then twist the cable & pull). The cables came out very easily with this procedure.

I had bought this TV in 2002 for $2400.
With your kit and detailed instructions, I was able to save money BIGTIME!
I was a little reluctant to try to fix this, since I hadn't worked with electronics before.
Your instructions were great, with detailed pictures.
I took my time, a few hours later, and now I am enjoying the game again, in HD.

I'll be surprised if this is posted. I ordered the kit and did everything as instructed. I even had a technician solder the parts on the board. No diff what so ever. I'm out a quick $100 bucks. Never again will I do this again. I am one very unhappy customer.

TV KITS RESPONSE: Eric, there are many reasons why a repair may not work the first time. It could be something as simple as soldering or a blown fuse that needs to be checked. This is why we offer our support. We checked and you never emailed us for help with your repair. If you had done so we would have done everything possible to get your TV back up and running. I have a 43" Hitachi Projection TV that HAD a bad convergence problem. I had the TV sitting off to the side of my basement as the repair shop wanted $400.00 to repair the set, and I did not want to lug the heavy weight upstairs. I was just about to make a youtube video of me smashing the TV when I stumbled across this site. I wanted to thank the folks at tvrepairkits.com, I was a little skeptical at first but I thought why not, its a small investment the cost of the repair kit and I had purchased the Big Screen for almost nothing. I was willing to pay a repair technition $350 but instead I took the chance and it worked beautifully, it was much easier to learn to solder the circut board and repair chips than I had imagined. I had about one and a half hours in the whole process. The de-soldering tool was the key to getting the job done, without it, the task would have been very much harder. Thank again.

I have a 55 inch Hitachi TV, and the colors had all seperated in the top left corner, 8 inches down the screen. It looked horrible, and would double
words and give actors 4 eyes if they were standing where the distortion was...2 of them green, and 2 of them red! We put up with it for weeks before
I found your site and bought the repair kit. Last night, I took the TV apart myself, and replaced the convergence chips. (The soldering was surprisingly
easy!) When I put the circut board back in, turned on the TV and found the picture perfect, I shrieked with excitement and shock. LOL! I didn't even
have to do the magic focus to set the TV, it just came on perfectly. I'm still in awe, when I look at the TV! Thank you SO much! :)
My TV had the same 3D wavy look described by others that were able to fix their TVs by installing the Convergence Repair Kit. So I figured I'd give it a shot. If I totally screwed it up, I'd still be buying a new TV anyway.

I consider myself handy with a little bit of electrical knowledge. But I've never done any soldering before. The entire repair took me about 4 hours. However, about an hour of that was spent learning and practicing soldering and desoldering on the spare parts I bought from Radio Shack. I was afraid of ruining the circuit board. It turns out, the soldering was the easiest part of the job. Maybe, the practice helped with that.

I'm very pleased with the outcome and the picture looks as good as new.

Thanks, TV Repair Kits.

Mitsubishi Convergence Repair Kit
Hi all. Just finished cleaning up after my repairs. Fantastic kit! Instructions were great! System works good as new. Thought there was a problem but turns out it was a spiders web flopping around in front of the mirror over the red gun. My biggest problem was I accidentally picked up an un fluxed wick. Ran to The Source and he couldn't tell me if theirs was with or without flux. So went to another store and bought flux to add to the wick I had and presto worked like a charm. So make sure your wick is flux infused.

Cheers guys to your amazing product kits and thorough instructions.

I had a lot of uncertainty of my ability to repair my own TV. I read and followed the instructions that were provided. With a little practice at soldering, the repair job was very easy. I replaced both convergence chips and now my TV works like it did when it was new. And most of all I saved a lot of money. I would recommend TVREAPIRKITS to anyone. Thanks!

Convergence
Wow! For about $100 (kit plus a RadioShack visit), TV Repair kits helped me fix the convergence problem on my ten year old widescreen. The directions were spot on. I got lucky and only had to replace one pico fuse plus the ICs. Thanks for being there. You guys rock!

It works. Thank you very much. I just had to replace the 2 convergence chips. The convergence resistors were ok. I did. I will recommend tvrepairkits.com to my friends.

Convergence kit
My big screen (70 inch projection TV) suddenly had issues with a 3D type look and the convergence not being correctable. We have had this TV since we bought it new 15+ years ago. I decided I would check to see if there was a fix available and did a search and found this site. I was going to just scrap the TV since after all it takes up a ton of space. I bought the repair kit - followed the directions (replaced the two convergence chips) - and now it is picture perfect once again. I'm extremely happy with this result and would highly recommend this site to anyone. Be sure to buy the de-soldering gun recommended in the instructions - makes the desoldering piece extremely easy and clean.

I was so happy that I've even posted a brief review on:

Thanks,

Convergence Chip replacement
never did any soldering in my life. Did exactly what they said to do with the instructions given and the set is working great. I have to admit the heat sinks were a bear to get out but just take your time and be careful you don't burn throu the card.Never could get enough heat on the massive solder joints to get the solder to flow easy, but they will come out in time.thanks alot you saved me big bucks.

convergence
The kit fixed my convergence issues (bowed, curved, 3D color shift and flickering) on the first try. I hope the fluid kit fixes my other issues.

The directions where great. I'm not sure how your instruction writer managed to flip the board w/o disconnecting the High Voltage Wires, but I bought both kits so I knew how to properly disconnect them. I had to unplug more than I wanted to but I managed to flip the board and do the repair "inside" the TV.

The overall kit was perfect. It includes all the correct parts, picture based directions and an exact list of which resistors to replace. Thanks

Lets hope the fluid kit goes as well for me!

P.S. If you've never soldered before, PRACTICE and get a good solder gun (doesn't have to be to expensive). The suction bulb desoldering gun from Radio Shack was the PERFECT tool.
